The Search For The Secret Of Eternal Youth

Fountain of YouthImage by hawk684 via Flickr
Many people, especially women, would love to know the secret of eternal youth. There are few that can say they have found it because there is only one secret that help.

For many, many years, there has been what people would hope to be a fountain of youth. The creams, lotions, potions and prayers would give more people faith that they would live a long and healthy life. Unfortunately, they did not bring youth or make anyone live longer, but they could easily have other effects that would make the person feel younger. Serums and lotions are obviously not the answer to eternal youth or longer life.

People as far back as the early 13th century have looked for a fountain of youth. The Romans thought they had succeeded in finding the secret by the use of Yoga. Yoga is a way to make the body feel better and the mind think clearer, but it will not bring back someone's youth.

Historians have documented transformations of humans from individual tribes as well as laymen. These transformations were supposedly of mostly women who drank from the fountain of youth or rubbed serums on their skin that would make them look and feel much younger than they actually were.

In more modern times, it is believed that fitness, your job, your lifestyle and education can play a roll in achieving this youth. It has also been said that if you keep learning, have good friends and live a healthy lifestyle which means eating vegetables and fruit, you can obtain the youthfulness. With all of these factors together, it is documented that you will have the ability to live a longer and livelier life.

Simple Ways To Meditate Include Concentration On Breathing

Meditation is a perfect way to relax your mind, allow it to be at peace and get in some much needed respite from the hustle and bustle of thoughts that assail our minds. Meditation does not need to be a complex process and there are some very simple ways to meditate. While it is not an easy task to switch off your mind, meditation will help.

Focusing on your breath and breathing is a meditation technique which can be mastered by anyone. Breathing is an involuntary action, so it is always there, it is rhythmic and this falls nicely in line with the theories on meditation. If you have ever been to an exercise or yoga class, or listened to guided meditation recordings, the lesson always starts by asking you to take a deep, or a few deep breaths.

Deep breathing is useful for relaxation even if you are not about to start meditating. We have all heard the words "take a breather", so taking a few deep breaths before any situation helps to calm you.

When the breath is the focal point it can be used to release the stresses and anxieties which trouble us. So start by inhaling through the nostrils or mouth and on the exhale, imaging that all your stress, worry and anxiety is being released with the breath and out through the soles of the feet, finger tips or top of the head. Imagine that all the tensions and toxins in your body are being flushed away in that exhale.

Shallow breathing while imagining there is something light in the way of your breath, is also a good way of learning to focus on your breathing. Imagine you have a feather or piece of thistledown on your chin and you can't disturb it at any cost. The more you focus and control your breathing the more simple you will find it to relax.

There are no hard and fast rules for meditation, it can be done anytime and anywhere. If you feel stressed, lock yourself away for a few minutes and focus on your breath. Or take an extra ten minutes in the morning to meditate and set you up the right way for the rest of the day.
